The Overtime Persuasive: A Sweet Hockey RomCom (Alexandria Dominion Hockey Book 3)

~ I received no compensation and opinions are 100% my own or my family. ~

Never miss out on future posts by following Seaside Book Nook.

Synopsis (from Amazon):

She needed a business rescue. She got her best friend's infuriating twin brother instead.

Eva Barlow had a plan, and it did not include a hockey player.

She's spent years filing them under arrogant, loud, and best avoided—right alongside anyone whose life comes with glitter attached. But when an unexpected fine threatens to take down the Old Town shop she built with her own two hands, turning down help stops being an option.

Enter Liam Snyder: NHL defenseman, professional karaoke menace, exactly the kind of man who makes "just helping out" feel dangerous in all the wrong (right?) ways.

He's aggressively good-looking, annoyingly charming, and always somehow underfoot. He knows her numbers better than she does, and somehow his oversized, unmistakably hockey player presence makes the shop feel steadier than it has in months.

Something about the way he stays after closing makes it very hard to remember why she swore off this kind of complication in the first place.

This was supposed to be about spreadsheets.

Not feelings.

Definitely not roots.

One (or more) Sentence Summary:  I’m a sucker for sports romance books, but especially ones that involve hockey! 🏒❤️

The Overtime Persuasion was a great read! It’s a standalone book, so you don’t need to read books 1 and 2—but why wouldn’t you? 😉 It was also so much fun having the characters from the earlier books back in book 3.

I really loved how strong and independent Eva is, and I enjoyed watching her relationship with Liam grow from friendship into something more. Eva is working hard to get her books and vinyl store up and running, with her best friend Lucy by her side. But when Lucy—Liam’s twin sister—is called up to play for a women’s professional hockey team, Liam steps in to help Eva out.

Of course, Liam and Eva can’t deny the attraction between them. 🔥 Let the sparks fly!

I really enjoyed The Overtime Persuasion and can’t wait for Book 4! 🏒📚❤️

Here is my review on Book One - The Sunshine Offensive
I just realized I never posted my review on Book Two - but I loved it! 5 stars Must Read.

I have read several of Anne Kemp books and love them all!

Anne Kemp is a bestselling author of romantic comedies. She loves reading (and she does it ridiculously fast, too!), gluten-free baking (because everyone needs a hobby that makes them crazy), and finding time to binge-watch her favorite shows. She grew up in Maryland but made Los Angeles her home until she encountered her own real-life meet-cute at a friend's wedding where she ended up married to one of the groomsmen. For real.

Anne now lives on the Kapiti Coast in New Zealand, and even though she was married at Mt. Doom, no…she doesn’t have a Hobbit. However, she and her husband do have a terrier named George Clooney and when she’s not writing, she’s usually with them taking a long walk on the river by their home.

Eden Whitfield came to Sea Glass Island to begin again. Now she’s discovering that building a new life takes more than courage—it takes trusting that the woman she has become is ready for whatever comes next.
Mercer House is changing.

The dusty rooms Eden inherited are slowly becoming warm, welcoming spaces. The belongings she brought from Ohio are finding their places beside the pieces her great-aunt Ruth left behind. And for the first time, Eden is creating a home—and a future—based entirely on what she wants.

As Eden prepares to welcome her first guests, Natalie must return to Ohio and face the career, relationship, and difficult choices she left waiting there. Eden wants desperately to protect her daughter, but she is beginning to understand that loving someone sometimes means giving them room to find their own answers.

Then there’s Caleb.

What began as friendship has become something neither of them can pretend is casual anymore. Eden is ready to see where it might lead, but after spending nearly thirty years shaping her life around someone else, she refuses to disappear inside another relationship.

Fortunately, Caleb may be the first man who has never asked her to.

With opening day drawing closer and a new love quietly finding its place beside everything Eden is building, the future she once couldn’t imagine is finally beginning to feel real.

But just when Eden thinks the past has finally found its proper place, one unexpected reminder threatens to bring it straight to her door.
