Synopsis (from Amazon):
She needed a business rescue. She got her best friend's infuriating twin brother instead.
Eva Barlow had a plan, and it did not include a hockey player.
She's spent years filing them under arrogant, loud, and best avoided—right alongside anyone whose life comes with glitter attached. But when an unexpected fine threatens to take down the Old Town shop she built with her own two hands, turning down help stops being an option.
Enter Liam Snyder: NHL defenseman, professional karaoke menace, exactly the kind of man who makes "just helping out" feel dangerous in all the wrong (right?) ways.
He's aggressively good-looking, annoyingly charming, and always somehow underfoot. He knows her numbers better than she does, and somehow his oversized, unmistakably hockey player presence makes the shop feel steadier than it has in months.
Something about the way he stays after closing makes it very hard to remember why she swore off this kind of complication in the first place.
This was supposed to be about spreadsheets.
Not feelings.
Definitely not roots.
The Overtime Persuasion was a great read! It’s a standalone book, so you don’t need to read books 1 and 2—but why wouldn’t you? 😉 It was also so much fun having the characters from the earlier books back in book 3.
I really loved how strong and independent Eva is, and I enjoyed watching her relationship with Liam grow from friendship into something more. Eva is working hard to get her books and vinyl store up and running, with her best friend Lucy by her side. But when Lucy—Liam’s twin sister—is called up to play for a women’s professional hockey team, Liam steps in to help Eva out.
Of course, Liam and Eva can’t deny the attraction between them. 🔥 Let the sparks fly!
I really enjoyed The Overtime Persuasion and can’t wait for Book 4! 🏒📚❤️
Anne Kemp is a bestselling author of romantic comedies. She loves reading (and she does it ridiculously fast, too!), gluten-free baking (because everyone needs a hobby that makes them crazy), and finding time to binge-watch her favorite shows. She grew up in Maryland but made Los Angeles her home until she encountered her own real-life meet-cute at a friend's wedding where she ended up married to one of the groomsmen. For real.
Anne now lives on the Kapiti Coast in New Zealand, and even though she was married at Mt. Doom, no…she doesn’t have a Hobbit. However, she and her husband do have a terrier named George Clooney and when she’s not writing, she’s usually with them taking a long walk on the river by their home.
