One (or more) Sentence Summary: I love audiobooks.  I am always listening to one.  It is my guilty pleasure - I get my work done, errands run, and the house cleaned while keeping up on my "reading!"  I was so excited to participate in this iRead Book Tour of the audiobook Murder by Perfection.  This was my first book of the Thorny Rose Mystery.  It stands alone just perfectly! 

Murder by Perfection was a great thriller with sex, drugs, black market organ transplants, secret lives, kidnapping, crazy guys, an elite US Navy team, and family pulling together to solve the murder.  Toss all that together with a plot that twists and turns and you have a great mystery/thriller!

I really liked the main characters in the book too.  Jessica, Murphy's wife was down to earth and working on her doctorate.  She comes from a wealthy background.  Murphy is a twin, his father is in law enforcement and he has had to work hard all his life to be the top of his class and the best at his skill.  Murphy's twin brother and father help find Murphy who has been kidnapped.  Jessica's brother joins in the hunt too as well as helps to solve the murder.

Who knew that stopping by to pick up pizza for dinner, running into an old friend could turn into a murder, which leads to another murder, black market organ transplant op and sex scheme?  Great story and I can't wait to go back and read book 1 and 2, while waiting for next book (hopefully) to come out!  Really enjoyed Murder by Perfection!

One (or more) Sentence Summary: I was happy to read a story that takes place in New York during the winter (November - January).  It has been hot and humid where I live, so it was fun to emerge myself into winter and the holidays.

I immediately like Willa and didn't so much like Johnny Blaze!  Of course I couldn't help but like Jack.  He is perfect for Willa but she is trying to hide and figure out what to do with her life and she hurt in the past.  They end up working on a community project together and flame is re-ignited! 

A Nanny for Christmas was a great story, quick read, steam chapters, and fun characters.  

Would I Read Other Books by the Author:  I really enjoyed The Publicist series (Shelf Life and Climax) years ago and would love to read Christina's other books.  

I’ve worked in publishing for twenty years and I sincerely love books and authors. I started this journey with my own books planning to write just one, and then well – all I can say is the stories kept coming. My original series The Publicist, follows Kate, Mac, Nick, Vivienne and a host of other awesome characters as they make their lives in New York, amidst the chaos that publishing often brings with it.

I am now exploring a fictional small town called Harper’s Corner. This series is so fun, because there are so many characters in this town, from sexy firemen and hot Army guys, to an awesome group of women that I affectionally call “the coven.” These books will explore each of these characters, and their journey to finding the loves of their lives.

I love writing, and I love reading and if I’m not actively writing a book, I’m probably dreaming of what I’ll write next.

Sunayna was honest about what it takes, what she learned and what not to do! Some lessons that really stuck with me were print out your material and read them over and over again.  The eye sees things better on print.  My mom would totally agree!  Also, don't have friends and family be your reviewers.  It may be really hard for them to be honest with you if there is something wrong with the book.  

The Life Lessons of a Young Author is a very quick read but packed with information about publishing/authoring a book.

One (or more) Sentence Summary: ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT!  I immediately fell in love with Libby (okay and Harrison).  Libby is so well put together with her life planned out to the minute, but is so unbelievably funny.  The two ends met to make one amazing character.  Harrison, owner of Paradise Bay, is so caring and carefree (and hot).  Libby and Harrison end up working together as things get turned upside down.  Libby's focus is on a "take over" report for her mergers and acquisition company, while Harrison is trying to figure out how to save Paradise Bay.  There are lots of other great things going on in-between.  I don't want to spoil it.  

Tons of steamy (PG) moments, laugh out loud crazy mishaps, jilted bride, best friend, groom returns, sexy resort owner, and much more in The Honeymooner. I read this on my kindle and in day one I was at 50%.  I hit panic mode....I didn't want this book to end.  I ended up pacing myself and only read one chapter a day.  It was pure torture as I didn't want to stop reading, but I didn't want it to end either.  I felt the same way with Melanie's Crown Jewels series - another must read.

Good news, Whisked Away (book 2) will be out this fall.  Crap its still summer.  The Honeymooner is a must read, get it today....and start laughing.

Would I Read Other Books by the Author: Bring them on.....all day long!  Absolutely love Melanie Summers' books!

One (or more) Sentence Summary: I enjoyed The President Is Missing and I went in expecting very little.  I had read a lot of negative reviews and have to disagree with them.  I am wondering if people got too hung up on who the co-author is and not the content and story.  Looks like Amazon reviews disagree too, 4.5 stars.

The President Is Missing is a typical fast pace, very interesting, wanting to read the next chapter James Patterson type of book.  The topic, cybersecurity/cyberterror is a very popular one today.  This did remind me a bit of Vince Flynn's, Mitch Rapp series (earlier ones in the series).  I never saw the ending coming and thought I had it figured out early on in the book.  Boy was I wrong.  

Great plot, fast pace, quick read (won't want to put it down), realistic and intense read!

Would I Read Other Books by the Author: I love James Patterson books.  My favorite to date is still Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas.

One (or more) Sentence Summary: I really love to listen to Hamilton, the musical.  Someday, I hope to see it on stage.  I was walking through Barnes & Noble and saw this book, Alex & Eliza, and knew I had to get it!  Thank goodness my mom never says no to buying a book.

I really liked how the story is the beginning of Alex and Eliza.  We learn who they are, how they met and how they fell in love.  I also liked all the history woven in based on known facts during that time period.  

I am now starting to read Love & War, the second book in the series.  I was so lucky my mom ran to the bookstore to pick it up for me!

Would I Read Other Books by the Author:  I have just cracked open Love & War!   I would also like to read other books by Melissa, as I didn't realize all the books she has written.

One (or more) Sentence Summary:  I just finished The Mother's Promise last night (very late) in tears (my eyes and head still hurt!).  The last 75 pages or so had me in gut wrenching sobs.  So beautifully written and took me back 12 years ago when my own mother passed away.  

The Mother's Promise is mainly about the journey of Zoe and how she overcomes her disorder, social anxiety.  The author really puts it all out there in such a raw and emotional rollercoaster of what social anxiety is to Zoe.  We also see how Alice has struggled with her daughter's disorder and all the sacrifices she has made in her life....which is the pure definition of a mother.  

There are two other stories mingled in the book.  While the story of Kate was predictable, I never saw the connect to Sonja until the very end, which blew me away.  All three stories come together so beautifully and really displays the power women have, especially together.

If you like books by Lisa Genova, you will love The Mother's Promise.
