Worth the Wait - The Homeward Hearts Series (Book 2)

~ I received no compensation and opinions are 100% my own or my family. ~

Never miss out on future posts by following Seaside Book Nook.

Synopsis (from Amazon):

I've spent my life building my café.

It's been my entire world.
I don't do relationships.
And I definitely don't do a rich, big-city developer with plans for my small town.

At least I didn't... until Joe Miller walked into Blossom.

At first I hated him.

He represented everything I despised—

Money. Change. And the possibility of losing the town I've spent my life protecting.

An unexpected encounter on the beach changed everything…

The next morning, I woke up in the home of the one man who could destroy everything I'd worked so hard to build.

Walking away should have been easy.

Instead, Joe kept finding his way into my life... and somehow into my heart.

But every secret he keeps reminds me that giving him my heart could cost me everything.

Will Joe's secrets destroy everything?
Or will trusting him mean risking the only home I've ever known?
And when his past finally catches up with him,

Will our love prove to be worth the wait?

Take a detour through Seaglass Cove, a fictional east coast town nestled along the Massachusetts coastline
where a big city businessman meets a small coastal town cafe' owner. Get lost in this billionaire, enemies to lovers romance and enjoy the twists and turns of this happily ever after.

One (or more) Sentence Summary:  This has been my week!  I found another new author - Maisy Sky! Worth the Wait is my first book of Maisy and won't be the last.  This is book 2 of the Homeward Hearts Series.  I have not read book 1 and don't believe I missed anything - works as a stand-alone.

Melissa is my type of character.  Responsible, never gives up, fights to the end, and falls in love with a billionaire (a girl can dream!).  Melissa is struggling to keep her cafe operating at a profit due to other businesses selling out to an out of town company.  Little does she know that the man who hit her car at the airport is the owner of such company.

Over time Melissa lets her guard down and gets to know Joe.  However, Joe continues to keep secrets for her about who he really is and the fact that he paid her bank loan off.  No good deed goes unpunished - and when Melissa finds out angry sparks fly.

Does Joe do the right thing or does he get dragged down by the loan shark that has been following him his whole life?  You will have to read Worth the Wait to find out!

I would like to go back and read book 1 (Maisy's first novel), Where Forever Beginnings. I am also looking forward to rest of the books in the series.
Maisy writes sweet, feel-good, slow burn, women's fiction romance. She loves to write about love and happily ever afters--especially with tropes such as enemies to lovers, grumpy/sunshine and forbidden romance. Her stories sometimes include a single mom or single dad that gives a "found family" feel. Maisy loves to create happily ever after romance exclusively for the hopeless romantics and big-hearted dreamers. Her stories are set in a small coastal town with lots of endearing supporting characters and main characters who unexpectedly stumble upon love.
